The Royal College of Ophthalmologists – Associate Membership

The Royal College of Ophthalmologists has just launched a new form of membership, which is open to non-ophthalmologist members of the eye care team, including orthoptists, nurses and optometrists. There is also the possibility for medical students and foundation doctors to join. This is likely to be of particular interest to non-ophthalmologist eye care professionals working in senior and leadership roles, or undertaking enhanced and extended practice.

The RCOphth is launching two new Associate Membership schemes, with access to some benefits and services we provide and opportunities to get involved with our work:

• For ophthalmic nurses, orthoptists, optometrists and healthcare scientists to encourage provide educational opportunities and learning materials, for extended and advanced practice
• For medical students and foundations doctors who have an interest in ophthalmology and may go onto a career in ophthalmology
