UKOA National Meeting: 8 June 2022

Solving the big challenges together:

Backlogs, digital, paeds and urgent care

8th June 2022 10:00 – 15:00

In person at Wellcome Collection, 183 Euston Rd, London NW1 2BE

We are delighted to invite our UKOA members to an in-person meeting, in response to overwhelming response from our member survey to return to some larger face to face meetings, which bring enormous benefits from networking and the ability to share lessons and work together, in combination with continuation of the shorter virtual meetings for convenience and accessibility.

The prime focus of this meeting will be about taking the unique opportunity of a face to face meeting to work directly together to share and solve the barriers around the current big challenges in eye care and to share successful strategies and lessons learnt where you have found them. We will hear an update on the progress of the UKOA and plans for future work, and a brief update on the status of national eye care transformation. The morning will be spent working together on how to solve the eye care backlog and the afternoon on some key areas of challenge, namely paediatric eye services, digital and IT enablers for eye care and urgent and emergency eye services. At the end of the day, we will hear from the new hosts for the UKOA, the RNIB, on major changes in their strategy and discuss how the UKOA and RNIB can support each other in achieving their aims. As always, there will be lots of time for questions and discussion

We look forward to seeing you there!
